If you want to give new life to home medical equipment, and you would like to do it with the least fuss, you can do it online in your local area, with uesdHME.com. It is simple and doesn’t take too much time to do it.
How to donate used medical equipment near you online with UsedHME.com
Used Home Medical Equipment is an online listing service where people can buy, sell, or donate used medical equipment for free.
The service works by zip code, so that people within a certain distance, which you choose, will see your advertisement.
Remember to not give your normal private email when you create your listing, as it’s better to create a new one just for this purpose so that you avoid you getting loads of spam mail.
To do this –
Step 1/
Go to the website –
Step 2/
In the main navigation menu select – ” List/Sell Equipment”
Step 3/
That will load the page where you need to fill out your contact info.
Step 4/
Enter the state where you are donating, and the zip code in which you are donating
Step 5/
There are two ways to donate your equipment –
- your item is sold, and the proceeds are donated to a charity of your choice, or
- you donate your item to someone
To sell the equipment and donate the proceeds to a charity
You will see below that I have selected “Donate” on the blue field in the Ad type selection menu, and directly below it is the option for “Free”.
You need to select one of the two options – these are the two options are for free listings on the site.
Let’s start with “Donation”.
Now, on the same page, select from the drop-down menu “Select type of Equipment” menu the type of equipment you are donating, and enter an asking price, the details of the model and the item’s condition – this first method is for selling the equipment and donating the money to a charity.
In the image below, you will see that I have selected wheelchair and entered an asking price of $150.
Once you have done this, you can then submit your ad.
After the sale the proceeds will be given to the charity you have chosen.
To donate the used medical equipment directly to another person
To donate the item itself to another person, you need to select “Free” in the text field “Ad Type“, and instead of “Donate”.
Next, you select your type of equipment from the menu, as in the previous example, and it gives an “Asking Price” of “$0”.
Add your equipment model number, age and condition into the details field.
You can see where I have indicated to do this in the image below.
Step 7/
Hit “Submit Ad“, and you are done. If someone wants your item, they will contact you.
The website is not involved with the delivery, or pickup, of any equipment and takes no responsibility., and all contact will be between you and the second party who wants the equipment – they will contact you on the telephone number you gave for the listing.
Photos ?
If you may are wondering where you add the photos of your donation – You don’t.
As the advertised listing is free, there is no opportunity to add a photo.
If you want to have an image, you will have to use their paid services.
